Northern California is on track for some major gambling expansion efforts as two top casino brands are reportedly planning to launch their casino properties in the region sometime this year. Harrah’s and Hard Rock, the two casino operations, have plans to open their doors to customers in April and sometime in the fall, respectively.

Harrah’s Northern California Casino south of Ione had its soft opening and thousands showed up.
The Harrah’s Facility
Harrah’s Northern California operation is a result of a partnership between the Buena Vista Rancheria Me-Wuk Tribe and Las Vegas casino giant Caesars Entertainment Corp. The gaming facility is expected to go live on April 29 and 4:29 pm local time. The opening date of the casino is quite symbolic as it is meant to pay homage to Louie Oliver, a tribal ancestor whose birthday is on April 29.
Harrah’s Northern California will occupy a total of 71,000 square feet that will be hosting a total of 950 slot machines as well as 20 gaming tables. In addition to these impressive offerings, the casino’s customers will also be treated to Caesars’ rewards program, which is one of the very best ones in the business.
Gambling aside, Harrah’s Northern California will further feature a decent number of dining facilities including a restaurant that has been named after Louie Oliver. For now, the facility will not feature a hotel but there are plans to add one to it in the not-so-distant future.
Located in the city of Ione, Amador Country, just off Highway 888, the Northern California gaming facility has already created up to 400 permanent jobs – 80 percent of the people who got employed here are residents of the region.
Hard Rock Sacramento
The Estom Yumeka Maidu Tribe (Enterprise Rancheria) has been trying to bring a casino in Yuba County for over twenty years. The tribe’s efforts seem to have finally paid off as it has partnered with the Florida-based Hard Rock International and they are now set to debut the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain in the fall of 2019 – no specific opening dates have been announced yet.
Hard Rock and International and the Estom Yumeka Maidu Tribe officially inked the partnership deal to establish the $440-million hotel and casino complex in South Yuba County last summer. Sources close to the two parties have recently revealed that their Northern California casino project has enlisted a good number of industry veterans to the executive team. According to Mark Birtha, the Hard Rock Sacramento President, some of the newest additions to the team have been part of the Hard Rock brand for years and they collectively bring several years-worth of industry experience that will help to “develop and operate what will become a top gaming, entertainment and hospitality venue.”
